MIAMI BEACH, Fla. – The Miami Beach Police Department is ready to rev things up for Breast Cancer Awareness month in October.
The department's pink patrol car, which has been repainted and touched up, is a favorite icon in the battle to bring attention to a disease that affects millions.
"Everyone knows someone who's been affected by breast cancer," said Miami Beach PD spokesperson Ernesto Rodriguez. "Anything we can do to bring awareness to the disease, we will obviously do."
Residents will see the car driving throughout Miami Beach during the month as well as at Hard Rock Stadium for an upcoming Miami Dolphins home game.
