U.S. Highway 1 southbound shut down near Florida's Turnpike

FLORIDA CITY, Fla. – All southbound lanes of U.S. Highway 1 are shut down where it intersects with Florida's Turnpike for a death investigation.

Sky 10 flew over the scene in Florida City just after 7 a.m. where it appears a person was killed in the center lane of U.S. 1. It's unclear how the person died.

Drivers are urged to avoid the area and use South Krome Avenue as an alternate.
