The county will use the pesticide, Dibrom, also known as Naled, which is certified for use by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency and the State of Florida.
Areas that will be sprayed include Homestead, Florida City, The Redlands, Cutler Bay, West Kendall and a portion of land east of U.S. 1.
Officials said the purpose of the spraying is to reduce the infestation of mosquitoes within populated areas of the county where more mosquito activity is present.
Beekeepers in the affected areas are asked to keep their bees covered during the spraying operations and people with known allergic reactions are advised to stay indoors.
Anyone with questions about the mosquito spraying or to make a complaint about mosquitoes in their area can call the county's Answer Center at 311.
