MIAMI – On Veterans Days, war vets get a wave of gratitude through discounts at restaurants, stores and parks in South Florida.
Here is a list of some of the discount programs that The American Legion has confirmed:
Applebee's: Service members get a free "Thank You" meal when you dine in at Applebee's. Guests will need to provide proof of their service.
Baskin Robbins: Baskin Robbins' flavor of the month in honor of Veterans Day is First Class Camouflage Ice Cream: chocolate, salty caramel and cake flavored ice creams. The ice cream chain will donate 10 cents from ice cream scoops sold at all U.S. locations to the United Service Organizations (USO).
Barnes and Nobles: Veterans get 15 percent off Nooks in stores.
Bed Bath and Beyond: Veterans get 20 percent off in stores.
California Pizza Kitchen: California Pizza Kitchen is offering a complimentary entrée from a special Veterans Day Menu at all participating restaurants in the U.S. to active and retired members of the United States Military on Tuesday.
Cracker Barrel Old Country Store: On Tuesday, veterans get a free Double Chocolate Fudge Coca-Cola Cake dessert, or if you're not a vet, if you buy the dessert or other retail items, 10 percent of all proceeds will be donated to the USO.
Chuck E. Cheese's: Veterans get 20 free tokens until Nov. 15.
Denny's: On Tuesday, active, inactive and retired military personnel can build your own free Grand Slam breakfast from 5 a.m. until noon at participating Denny's.
Disney World: Veterans can buy four-day military promotional three-day park hopper tickets for $177 through Sept. 30th.
Firestone: Veterans get 10 percent off the lowest advertised price of any automotive service until Nov. 16.
Florida State Parks: Veterans will not have to pay entrance fees.
Home Depot: Veterans get a 10 percent discount all day.
Hooters: Active-duty and retired military are invited to Hooters to dine for free on Tuesday: get a free entree by presenting a military ID or proof of service.
JC Penny: Veterans get a 20 percent discount from Nov. 3 to 15th with a website printable coupon.
Krispy Kreme: Veterans get a free doughnut and a small coffee on Veterans Day.
Legoland Florida: Veterans get free admission through Nov. 23rd and discounts on tickets for up to three guests.
Lowe's: Veterans get a 10 percent discount in stores.
Olive Garden: Veterans get a free meal from a limited menu.
Outback Steakhouse: On Tuesday, Outback is honoring all active and retired military personnel with a free Bloomin' Onion and a beverage. You must show a valid military ID at participating restaurants.
Panera Bread: Free "You Pick 2" options for veterans on Veterans Day.
Publix: Veterans get 10 percent off of purchases and taxes are not included.
Red Lobster: From Monday, Nov. 10 through Thursday, Nov. 13, Red Lobster will be thanking veterans, active duty, active serving military and reservists with a free select appetizer, including the new crispy shrimp lettuce wraps or several other options.
Sleep Number: Through Nov. 16, Sleep Number is offering current and past military personnel $700 off on a Sleep Number m7 bed plus 24-month financing and free standard shipping, plus other Sleep Number military offers.
Steve Madden: Veterans get a 20 percent discount on Veterans Day.
