Miami Fire Rescue spokesman Capt. Ignatius Carroll Jr. said it appears that the victim fell off the platform as a train was pulling into the station, and got trapped underneath the train.

Carroll said the man was unresponsive when paramedics arrived. He was taken to Jackson Memorial Hospital in critical condition.

Carroll said the man suffered severe trauma to his arms.

A temporary bus shuttle is picking up passengers at the Culmer Station and driving them to the Government Center Station until  service is restored.
