MIAMI — Detectives were investigating a fatal shooting on Monday at a home near Miami’s Design District, police said.

Police officers responded at about 5 a.m. on Monday to a home at 4606 NW 5th Ave., according to Officer Kenia Fallat, a spokeswoman for the Miami Police Department.

“The individual was pronounced deceased on scene by Miami Fire Rescue. One person is currently being questioned in connection with the incident,” Fallat wrote in a statement.

The shooter reported firing at an intruder. A crime scene forensics van was parked on Northwest Fifth Avenue, between 46th and 47th streets.

Detectives asked anyone with information about this or other cases to call Miami-Dade County Crime Stoppers at 305-471-8477 to remain anonymous.
