Shortly before 6 p.m., BSO’s Burglary Apprehension Team said they were conducting an investigation in the 5200 block of Northwest Second Street when a woman, who has not been identified at this time, barricaded herself inside an apartment for several hours.

Authorities said SWAT deputies and crisis negotiators responded to the Park Ridge Court apartments along Buck Pride Way, about 10 minutes from the original investigation.

Video from a neighbor showed a woman, who deputies identified as Jamisha Sylvain, emerging from an apartment with her hands raised as deputies stood nearby.

After several hours, Sylvain and Deja Boynton, were taken into custody, BSO officials said. Deputies later confirmed that Boynton was released.

The sheriff’s office did not immediately provide additional information about the identities of those taken into custody or explain what led to the barricade.

A large group of people gathered outside the apartment complex as deputies secured the area. SWAT vehicles were also at the scene.

Authorities have not said whether anyone was injured, and no other details about the SWAT standoff were immediately released.
