FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. — A French bulldog found badly malnourished in Fort Lauderdale stepped outside and walked around an animal hospital on Friday, another major milestone in the recovery process for a dog bestowed the name “Miracle.”
She’s headed to a medical foster home where she will continue to get treatment.
“I hadn’t been able to see her walk yet and I can’t believe she’s walking,” Cindy Mucciaccio with iHeart Animal Rescue said.
It’s not clear how long she had been on her own after being found abandoned behind a Walgreens on Broward Boulevard, but she suffered serious health complications.
“She’s a miracle. She really is a miracle. Every dog should be so lucky,” Cheryl Marrone with iHeart Animal Rescue said.
The search for whoever neglected “Miracle” continued Friday.
Fort Lauderdale police said they have canvassed the area seeking surveillance video.
Anyone with information is asked to call Broward Crime Stoppers at 954-493-8477.
