FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. — Broward County Public Schools Superintendent Howard Hepburn said Wednesday was a difficult day.
More than 350 BCPS staff members received notifications about the uncertain status of their jobs.
“These decisions are driven by sustained declining enrollment and the resulting loss of funding,” Hepburn said.
The proposed organizational chart reflects the need to align resources while protecting classrooms. Hepburn said his goal is to continue to serve for years to come.
The Broward School Board members will meet at 1 p.m. on April 21 to make decisions about Hepburn’s proposal.
