HOLLYWOOD, Fla. – One of Hollywood’s most iconic restaurants is turning 50 this year.
Le Tub, a waterfront burger restaurant and institution, celebrated all weekend long.
“It’s so very exciting because people come here to enjoy,” said Natasha Melo, Le Tub manager.
A lot has changed throughout the years, but the vibe at the restaurant remains the same, along with its iconic burger.
Le Tub’s legendary burger was named “The Best Burger in America” by GQ Magazine in 2006, a recognition that catapulted the restaurant to national fame.
For the last few years, Le Tub has been under new ownership, but it remains filled with nostalgia and artifacts from decades past.
“You know we’re very grateful, we don’t take it for granted. There’s Charm in the building,” said TJ Patel, Le Tub, General Manager.
Framed articles on the wall serve as reminders of what the place means to the Hollywood Beach community.
“This is just a fun-loving place. Everyone can be themselves. All different types of generations so it’s good to see,” said Patel.
Le Tub just completed a major restoration — including a brand-new dock and seawall built to withstand higher tides.
The waterfront seating is now shaded by tiki huts, and the patio areas feature transparent roofs so guests can enjoy the view rain or shine.
The restaurant’s beloved Old Florida vibe features more than 2,000 quirky, colorful items — collected over decades from the beach by guests, lifeguards, and founder Russel T. Kohuth on his daily jogs. The original clawfoot tubs also remain, freshly repainted with the playful sayings everyone loves.
As part of the anniversary festivities, a portion of the weekend’s proceeds will be donated to local charities, including the Hollywood Historical Society, to honor the community that has supported Le Tub over the decades.
