According to police, officers responded to the 3700 block of Northwest 199th Street just after 3 a.m.

A store clerk at a nearby Marathon gas station told Local 10’s Trent Kelly that he heard between six to eight gunshots.

The clerk said the shooting did not occur at the gas station, but that a man was driving down 199th Street when he was shot at, causing him to crash into a pole near the gas station.

Surveillance video shows muzzle flashes coming from a red SUV right before the black car that was shot up crashes.

The driver of the black car then jumped out and ran into the gas station. He didn’t appear to be injured.

The red car is seen in the video circling back around and waiting for the victim to exit the gas station.

A heavyset man in a green shirt is then seen getting out of the SUV and walking around before re-entering the vehicle.

Another video clip shows someone inside the red vehicle opening fire again at the burning car before driving off.

Police said officers arrived at the scene a short time later and found the vehicle fully engulfed in flames, but the driver was nowhere to be found.

Miami-Dade firefighters extinguished the blaze.

According to police, while no victims were found at the scene, multiple spent casings were found near the vehicle, which had been shot on both sides.

The investigation is ongoing.

Anyone with information about the shooting is asked to call the Miami Gardens Police Department or Miami-Dade Crime Stoppers at 305-471-8477.
