MIAMI-DADE COUNTY, Fla. – Detectives believe a surveillance video shows a 49-year-old murder suspect holding a long rifle about 30 minutes before a recent shooting in a warehouse area in Miami-Dade County.
Detectives believe the video shows Roberto Leyva getting on his motorcycle before he headed to the Glenvar Heights neighborhood. Deputies later found he was also armed with a gun.
According to the Miami-Dade County Sheriff’s Office, Leyva killed his maternal brother, Eduardo Rivero, Jr., on Thursday afternoon, at Priced Right Motor, Inc., a used car dealership at 7321 SW 45th St.
Deputies accused Leyva of also injuring Armando Yadro Alea, who worked for Priced Right Motor, where Rivero was the president and owner.
The massive law enforcement response to a report of an active shooter caused panic in the area. Leyva was injured and fire rescue personnel took him to the HCA Florida Kendall Hospital.
Detectives asked anyone with information about this or other cases to call Miami-Dade County Crime Stoppers at 305-471-8477 to remain anonymous.
