Jail records show Cassandra Stuckey, 59, is facing one count each of attempted second-degree murder with a deadly weapon and illegal possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.

According to an arrest report, officers with the Miami Police Department responded to reports of shots fired at about 6:43 p.m. Sunday at a home near the 1800 block of Northwest 44th Street.

Police said a responding officer detained Stuckey at the scene and interviewed the victim, who said he had just returned home when he overheard Stuckey talking to another person outside, claiming she “runs this house.”

The victim said he told Stuckey, “You don’t run this house,” before walking past her and going to his room, the report stated.

Moments later, he told police that Stuckey entered the home, spit in his face, and after he pushed her away, she retrieved a silver revolver with a black handle from her bedroom, according to investigators.

The victim said Stuckey then approached his glass-paneled door, tapped on it, and called him a “p---y boy” before firing a shot into the room, according to investigators. He said he threw himself to the floor and heard four additional gunshots while calling police, the report stated.

A witness corroborated the victim’s account, telling detectives he heard the argument, saw Stuckey retrieve a gun, and watched her fire “three to four rounds” toward the victim’s bedroom, according to police.

Detectives said Stuckey denied firing the weapon and said there were no bullet holes in the victim’s door, which had recently been replaced.

A records check showed that Stuckey is a four-time convicted felon for possession of cocaine, with convictions dating back to 2005.

Police executed a search warrant at the home the next day and said they recovered a gun matching the description given by the victim and witness.

Authorities did not disclose the relationship between Stuckey and the victim in her arrest report.

As of Monday afternoon, Stuckey is being held on a $12,500 bond and remains at the Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center.
