Wilton Manors police identified the suspects in a news release as Sonjay Brown and Jailyn Voit in a news release Thursday.

The arrests stem from an early Tuesday morning robbery that occurred at the World of Smoke and Vape store, located at 2201 Wilton Dr.

According to Detective Haley Plante, the two suspects entered and exited the shop several times before one of them pulled a gun on a store employee.

“Two individuals entered the store. After they walked around for several moments, they left the store, re-entered a few times, and on the last time they entered, they held the store worker at gunpoint,” Plante told Local 10 News.

While one suspect threatened the employee with a gun, police said the other ran behind the counter and grabbed merchandise. Surveillance video shows the armed individual pointing a gun while the second suspect, wearing red, snatched THC vapes.

Police said the total loss was estimated at $879, including the vapes and other items, with each vape valued around $40.

The store employee was not injured and managed to trigger a panic button to discreetly alert police, according to investigators.

“WMPD would like to thank Crime Stoppers, Miramar PD, BSO West Park and the public for their assistance in bringing these suspects to justice,” the agency wrote in a news release.

The suspects’ booking photos and charges were not immediately released.
