BROWARD COUNTY, Fla. – A brush fire began burning in western Broward County on Wednesday.
It was located in the Florida Everglades off U.S. 27 near Weston.
As of Wednesday evening, 50 acres had burned, and firefighters said the flames had yet to be contained.
Fire crews were on scene battling the blaze, with bombardiers being used to help fight the fire.
The fire isn’t near any businesses or homes.
Southbound traffic on U.S. 27 is being rerouted just south of Interstate 75 as crews work to extinguish the fire.
