MIAMI BEACH, Fla. – After arresting a suspect, Miami Beach detectives continued their investigation Wednesday afternoon into an auto theft ring.
According to the Miami Beach Police Department, surveillance video shows Gregory Yearty in July stealing key fobs from The Setai’s valet room, at 2001 Collins Ave. Detectives suspect he wasn’t working alone.
The stolen key fobs resulted in the thefts of several luxury cars worth millions including a $360,000 Rolls-Royce, a $325,000 Ferrari, and a $280,000 Lamborghini.
Inmate records show Miami-Dade correctional deputies booked Yearty on Dec. 10 at the Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center and he remained there on Wednesday afternoon.
Yearty, who marked his 24 birthday in March, appeared in Miami-Dade bond court on Wednesday. Records show he faced over 90 charges in 14 pending cases and a warrant case that was nonbondable.
The list of charges Yearty faced includes 17 counts of first-degree grand theft, 13 counts of first-degree grand theft conspiracy, 12 counts of burglary of an unoccupied conveyance, and 13 counts of burglary of an unoccupied conveyance conspiracy.
