MIAMI – Local 10 News recently published an article on its website based on public records from the Florida Department of Business and Professional Regulation regarding a recent restaurant inspection.

According to the state records, Lovely’s in the City (license number SEA2335674) was ordered shut last week.
Following the publication of our story, we received a response from the owner, “Ro Crist”, who strongly disputed the report. Rolanda Benjamin stated:
“Unfortunately, the Local 10 story is misleading. It references a location—Lovely’s in the City in Miami—that has been closed for years and is currently for sale. I do not operate, cater, or do any work from that location. It was a project I took on that didn’t work out. I am looking for new owners to bring joy to the neighborhood this location is in. I take great pride in running a clean, professional establishment and would never jeopardize my brand with anything less. I usually don’t respond to reports like this, but my brand is my pride and joy. I love what I do, and I’m committed to serving the community with quality and care.”
Although the license remains tied to the 1622 NW 62nd St. address in Miami, Benjamin said her main location — where she actively operates — is located at 1806 NW 183rd St., in Miami Gardens. She emphasized that her Miami Gardens site is open, clean, and operating in full compliance with health regulations.
We are now seeking clarification from the Department regarding the inspection:
• The current status of the business license for Lovely’s in the City.
• Whether the location is considered active or has been officially closed.
• If the location has indeed been closed, how an inspector was able to gain access and conduct an inspection.
As part of our ongoing “Dirty Dining” segment, we take great care in reporting responsibly and relying on accurate public records. We want to ensure the information we share with our viewers is up to date and correct.
We appreciate your time and assistance and look forward to your response.
