Police arrested Jose Benjamin Corujo, 31, of northwest Miami-Dade, and Jose Andre Reyes, 26, of Miami, on Thursday evening.

According to the Miami Police Department, police conducted a controlled drug buy in the parking lot of the Air Park Plaza shopping center, located at the corner of Northwest Seventh Street and 57th Avenue in the city’s Flagami neighborhood.

Police said they then searched Reyes’ home in the 2300 block of Northwest 31st Street in the Allapattah neighborhood and discovered 10 rifles, including an AK-47, three handguns, ammunition and magazines, along with 181 grams of cocaine and 484 grams of marijuana.

They said they also found Oxycodone, Adderall and Xanax.

Both men, according to police, were on probation at the time of their arrests: Reyes for attempted murder and Corujo for battery on a law enforcement officer.

Court records show Reyes’ attempted murder case stemmed from an arrest by what was then the Miami-Dade Police Department when he was 19. Details of the case weren’t available, but he received withheld adjudication and probation and was designated a “youthful offender,” court records show.

Records show Corujo’s probation stems from an April 4, 2024 arrest in Coral Gables, where a city police officer caught him drinking alcohol at a public park while on a skateboard.

His arrest report states that he ignored and later slapped the officer and eventually had to be shocked with a Taser after he fled.

The officer later found a bag of cocaine in his pocket.

Both Reyes and Corujo were being held in the Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center as of Friday, with bonds listed in online jail records as “to be set.”
