Emmy Award-winning actor Eric Stonestreet served as the ship’s godfather, blessing the vessel as part of a longstanding maritime tradition, the cruise line stated in a news release on Monday.
The celebration took place at Norwegian’s LEED Gold Certified terminal and included live entertainment, surprises, and updates on the company’s private island destination, Great Stirrup Cay.
According to the company, Norwegian Aqua boasts a wide array of activities and attractions, including the Aqua Slidecoaster — the world’s first hybrid roller coaster and waterslide — and the Glow Court, a new digital sports complex with an interactive LED floor that transforms into a nightclub by night.
The ship also features a lineup of world-class entertainment, including “Revolution: A Celebration of Prince.”
Set to begin sailing in October 2025, the Norwegian Aqua will offer seven-day roundtrip Caribbean cruises from Miami through April 2026, with stops that include Great Stirrup Cay.
