“To have somebody stabbed to death is totally a shock,” Yolanda Franklin, a neighbor, said. “A shock for us and I’m pretty sure it’s going to be a shock for my neighbors.”

Yolanda Franklin witnessed the entire incident from her front door, recording what she says has never happened in the 20 years she’s lived near the 1800 block of Runners Way.

“I saw that they brought an unconscious person, probably a dead person, and then they brought out another person, but quite honestly, I’m totally shocked and my husband and I are totally shocked,” she said.

The sound of a helicopter and deputies outside awoke neighbors after the stabbing, which deputies said happened just before 2 a.m.

“They had the K-9s and when I looked up, I saw they had the helicopter, so I figured they were trying to find probably the person that did it,” Franklin said.

Deputies were still searching for a suspect as of Saturday morning. Anyone with information is asked to call Broward Crime Stoppers at 954-493-8477.
