Tmarco Ellison, 23, and Shayvon Givens, 21, of Homestead, were taken into custody Wednesday night after authorities said they linked the pair to Wednesday night’s shooting.
According to Florida City police, the victim had just left Tutties Frutties on Redland Road and parked outside a residence around 8:35 p.m. when he noticed a white Chevrolet Equinox drive past him.
As he walked toward the front porch, police said one of the suspects was seen hanging out of the SUV’s rear passenger window and firing at him.
A Ring doorbell camera and nearby CCTV video captured the shooting, with footage showing a masked man in a blue and black hoodie firing a gun toward the victim, according to an arrest report.
No injuries were reported, but officers said they found two .45 caliber shell casings at the scene, along with bullet holes in a nearby pickup truck and the front of the home.
Roughly an hour after the shooting, authorities said that Miami-Dade Sheriff’s deputies stopped a white Chevy Equinox matching the suspect vehicle near the 800 block of North Krome Avenue.
Authorities said they found a black ski mask and a gun inside the vehicle.
Givens, who police said matched the clothing seen in the surveillance footage, was seated in the middle row of the SUV. Ellison, identified as the driver, was in the front seat, according to the report.
Police have not disclosed a motive or the relationship between the suspects and victim.
Jail records show both men are facing one count each of attempted felony murder, discharging a firearm from a vehicle, subsequent offense of illegal use or display of a firearm, shooting or throwing a deadly missile and unlawful discharge of a firearm in a public place or residential area.
As of Thursday, the pair are being held without bond at the Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center.
