MIAMI-DADE COUNTY, Fla. – A man has been arrested in Louisiana after he allegedly killed his own sister in Miami-Dade County last week, the Miami-Dade Sheriff’s Office announced.

According to MDSO, Beatriz Linares-Calamita, 60, was fatally shot around 5:40 p.m. last Friday in the 300 block of Southwest 79th Avenue in Miami-Dade’s Fontainebleau neighborhood.
Deputies said Miami-Dade Fire Rescue also responded and pronounced Linares-Calamita dead at the scene.
“The preliminary investigation revealed the subject, who is the victim’s brother, arrived at the residence and without provocation shot his sister,” MDPD said in a news release. “The subject then fled prior to the deputies’ arrival.”
Deputies said the suspect, Pedro Pablo Linares, 57, has since been located in Louisiana where he was taken into custody.
He is awaiting extradition back to Miami-Dade County where he will face a first-degree murder charge.
A motive for the killing has not been released.
