Reward increased for information about fatal Pompano Beach smoke shop shooting

POMPANO BEACH, Fla. – The reward for information leading to an arrest in the deadly shooting of a 27-year-old man inside a Pompano Beach smoke shop has increased to $60,000, authorities confirmed Tuesday.

Broward County deputies said they responded to a shooting at the Fire Up Smoke Shop in the 1200 block of East Sample Road shortly after midnight on March 30.

Upon arrival, investigators said they found Sayf Abdelaziz suffering from a gunshot wound. Pompano Beach Fire Rescue pronounced him dead at the scene.

Investigators say an unknown person entered the shop, approached the front counter with a handgun, shot Abdelaziz and fled on foot.

The Broward Sheriff’s Office is asking anyone with information to call Detective Kevin White at 954-321-4210 or submit a tip via the SaferWatch app. Those wishing to remain anonymous can contact Broward Crime Stoppers at 954-493-8477 or online at browardcrimestoppers.org.

Broward Crime Stoppers is offering up to $10,000, while anonymous donors are contributing an additional $50,000. The combined $60,000 reward is available through April 3, 2026, a news release stated.
