Tree falls in Fort Lauderdale, narrowly misses home

A large tree fell unexpectedly in Fort Lauderdale Friday morning, narrowly missing a home, damaging a sedan and leaving a mess behind.

It happened along Northeast 17th Way and Fifth Street in the city’s Victoria Park neighborhood.

Neighbors said the tree, from a property under construction, made a loud noise as it came down.

They said they’re grateful no one was hurt and that there was minimal damage.

A crew was still cleaning up the mess as of late Friday afternoon.
