South Miami police searching for slick pickpocket crook caught on camera

SOUTH MIAMI, Fla. – A pickpocket was caught on camera in Miami-Dade County.

According to police, the thief got away with $25 dollars in cash before trying to make a more than $2,000 purchase at a Saks Fifth Avenue, but the victim had already frozen her cards.

Now investigators are looking for the suspect.

The crime happened Wednesday at the Maman café located of Sunset Drive in South Miami.

In the video, the suspect is seen taking off his button down shirt and using it to conceal what officer’s say was a quick pickpocket, reaching into the woman’s purse and fishing out her wallet.

The thief is caught leaving the restaurant on another camera.

South Miami Police are hoping someone recognizes the suspect and can help them identify him.

They said he is between 30 and 40 years old with a tattoo on his left shoulder, and investigators believe he may have done this before and want to know if any other similar incidents have happened in the area recently.

Police also said he has a tattoo of a red minion character on his leg.
