‘Rain, hail, sun, we are there vibing’: Ultra attendees party on despite gray skies

MIAMI – Wet and soggy conditions didn’t deter electronic music lovers from heading to downtown Miami’s Bayfront Park for the Ultra Music Festival on Saturday.

Kanna Srilakshman, from Australia, shared, “It’s very warm, very nice vibes, people, music.”

6 p.m. report:

Day two of the Ultra Music Festival was somewhat damp compared to the first day.

“We’ve been waiting since 2012, so a good 13-plus years,” Manilka Wijesena, also from Australia, said. “It’s been a bucket list dream.”

2025 marks the 25th anniversary of a celebration of electronic dance music in the 305.

“It’s just good energy here,” Festivalgoer Brooke Boccucczi said. “Peace love unity respect. The vibes are great.”

In 2024, lightning and strong winds temporarily shut down the festival on the first night.

“Oh yeah. It was a memorable festival experience,” attendee Elle Berg said.

Fortunately, the weather has been favorable for the 12-hour event.

“Please give us the weather we’ve had the last month,” Berg said. “It was perfect like every day, then it’s Ultra weekend. Really, it’s like this?”

The festival is somewhat synonymous with interesting and unique outfits.

“I’ve been collecting for a few months now in preparation,” Eva Carbonara, from Fort Lauderdale said. “We have some Victoria’s Secret, Marshall’s, some old stuff from EDC.”

That was still the case Saturday — just with rain gear.

“We paid all this money and came all the way here. Rain, hail, sun, we are there vibing,” a festivalgoer said.

Ultra continues until midnight and resumes on Sunday, its final day.
