OPA-LOCKA, Fla. – Two suspects were taken into custody Saturday after being caught driving in a stolen vehicle and attempting to outrun police.
The chase reportedly began in Broward County and concluded in Opa-locka, where police successfully made two arrests.
Video footage shows police making an arrest late Saturday morning in the area of Northwest 22nd Avenue and Ali Baba Avenue.
Officers from the Davie and Opa-locka police departments, as well as Broward Sheriff’s Office deputies, swarmed the area.
According to Opa-Locka police, the incident started as a pursuit of a stolen vehicle, which had also been linked to a burglary.
The vehicle, a blue sedan, was loaded onto a tow truck shortly after the incident.
Police confirmed that two arrests were made.
According to police scanners, the chase began in Broward County, crossed into Miami-Dade and ended with three people bailing out of the vehicle. A pair of flip-flops was left behind near the vehicle.
Neighbors in the area were surprised by the police activity, looking on as officers made the arrests.
It remains unclear whether police are still searching for another suspect in connection with this incident.
