Hundreds of local teens packed part of Fort Lauderdale Beach looking for Spring Break fun

FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. ā€“ Hundreds of local juveniles looking to have some Spring Break fun were sent away from Fort Lauderdale Beach by police on Thursday night.

The group was apparently high school kids out in Spring Break who gathered at Las Olas Oceanside Park.

Fort Lauderdale police responded with an estimated 15 units. They eventually shut down the park over a loudspeaker and told the juveniles to go home. The park was then closed, and authorities provided city buses for free rides home to anyone who needed it.

A high school student from Flanagan High School told Local 10 News Samiar Nefzi they were just out to enjoy Spring Break and nothing was crazy.

A1A northbound at Las Olas Boulevard was temporarily shut down due to large crowds.
