It happened Jan. 9 in the 5300 block of Northwest 33rd Street.

The footage shows the moment two Fort Lauderdale officers say they were forced to open fire on a man after responding to calls of a man lighting a building on fire.

Once on scene, the yet-to-be-named suspect can be seen throwing objects into a fire.

He allegedly had set a mattress and chairs ablaze. That man died from his injuries.

Several hours earlier, officers responded to another arson call in the 3500 block of Northwest 56th Street.

Surveillance footage shows a man pouring a liquid onto the ground, and moments later, the front door is seen fully engulfed.

Investigators later obtained video and a note left on the ground of the first scene, which indicated he’d be at the other scene.

Both officers have been placed on administrative leave which is standard protocol.

The Florida Department of Law Enforcement is investigating the police-involved shooting.
