Miami police arrested Luis Acosta-Barbon, 59, on Thursday. He is facing charges of second-degree murder.

The stabbing happened on Feb. 5 outside of Cacique Restaurant, located at 112 W. Flagler St.

Police said Wilfredo Clemente Campo Alegre, also 59, was found bleeding on the sidewalk after an argument with the suspect over money.

The victim was taken to Jackson Memorial Hospital, where he later died.

Authorities said surveillance video showed Acosta-Barbon, who is homeless, fleeing on a white electric scooter after the stabbing.

They said on Thursday, an anonymous tipster told them that Acosta-Barbon was seen on the scooter in the area of Northwest 17th Avenue and 23rd Street, in the city’s Allapattah neighborhood.

Authorities pulled him over, gave him a traffic ticket and arrested him on a charge of resisting arrest without violence.

They said they questioned him and he denied knowing the victim, but made an admission which was redacted from the report after being shown CCTV footage.

An arrest report states that Acosta-Barbon still “denied having an argument with anyone.”

As of Saturday, he was being held without bond in the Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center.
