Each of the schools were the only ones to earned coveted bids to compete for Miami-Dade County Public Schools and Broward County Public Schools, respectively.

Manatee Bay Robotics teams dominated not only Broward County and Palm Beach County Robotics leagues, but they also took the top awards at the South Florida Regionals. All three Manatee Bay teams received a bid to compete.

During last year’s championship, Manatee Bay Elementary School students scored in the top 5% of all teams and won the Think Award, which recognizes the most effective and consistent use of coding techniques and programming design solutions to solve the game challenge.

The Dr. Edward L. Whigham Elementary school team competed for the first time in Dec. 2024 and won the Build Award. At the state competition they earned the Innovate Award and an invitation to the World Championship.

South Florida Regionals were held in Miami and 50 elementary schools competed.

The Vex Robotics World Championships are scheduled to take place at the Kay Bailey Hutchinson Convention Center in Dallas from May 6-14.
