Police: Family located after toddler found roaming streets of Hollywood

HOLLYWOOD, Fla. – Hollywood police have located the family of a young boy who was found roaming the streets by himself Wednesday morning, authorities confirmed.

According to police, the boy, who identified himself as Emmanuel, is about 2 years old and was found just after 8:30 a.m. in the 1200 block of South 19th Avenue.

While the boy’s family was located, police said they are still investigating the circumstances that led to the boy being found alone. The Florida Department of Children and Families was also notified.

According to one of the boy’s relatives, he unlocked the front door himself before wandering outside.

It’s unclear whether charges will be filed against his parents or whoever was responsible for watching him at the time.

Police did not immediately confirm for how long the boy was believed to have been by himself.
