FORT LAUIDERDALE, Fla. – Spring breakers were out in out in full force on Fort Lauderdale Beach Saturday. So, too, was a beefed up law enforcement presence.

“Fort Lauderdale is way lit-er,” visitor Madison Delgado said. “Yeah, it’s way better.”

Meanwhile, online video shows breakers allegedly placing bets on street boxing matches.

“I started seeing a guy taking bets on the seawall as he was walking,” Fort Lauderdale resident Joshua Pettus said. “He was going to each guy on the wall and he was asking them if he wanted to take a bet and he was telling them how to place the bet with crypto. "

In a statement, officials with the Fort Lauderdale Police Department said officers “witnessed and broke up two incidents on the beach and the crowd complied both times without further issues.”

“There have been no reported or confirmed cases of betting,” police said. “This type of behavior will not be tolerated.”

Meanwhile, on South Beach, wounded hearts reeled as Miami Beach officials have done everything they can to dissuade spring break visitors for the second year in a row.

Visitor Carys McDowell said, “Honestly, I don’t like this break up. This is horrible, this is toxic.”

“We lit, we young and turnt,” visitor Denise Hayes said. “Y’all need to not break s--- up.”

The break-up plan in Miami Beach includes curfews, the shutdown of select parking garages with increased parking rates and double the price of a vehicle towing.

“I like it,” visitor Natalie Porter said. “I feel a bit safer.”
