Julie Jeffries saw what appeared to be a Keel-billed toucan in a tree in her Pinecrest neighborhood on Wednesday.

Keel-billed toucans are the national bird of Belize.

They are native to rainforests in Mexico, Venezuela and Colombia, but definitely not South Florida.

Jeffries says she lives in a very special section of Pinecrest where “my property is tucked away and has truly incredible nature.”

We didn’t ask exactly where Jeffries lives, but the OGs remember that there were all types of fancy birds at the old Parrot Jungle on Red Road back in the 1980s.

Jeffries says she was told that there’s a pod of Toucans living in the northern part of the Florida Keys.
