Shots fired report prompts lockdown at Miami Gardens school; students safe

MIAMI GARDENS, Fla. – A report of shots fired prompted a precautionary lockdown at an elementary school in Miami Gardens Friday. No injuries were reported.

Officers were seen in the area of Golden Glades Elementary School, located at 16520 NW 28th Ave., on Friday afternoon.

Sources tell Local 10 News that the gunfire broke out a few blocks away from the campus.

Police were seen on the ground searching for shell casings.

They haven’t said whether they’ve identified any suspects.
