Deputies say Tymesia King, 42, of Liberty City, stole thousands of dollars’ worth of baby formula from Walmart supercenters.
According to the arrest affidavit, King stole 10 cans of formula from a Walmart in Naples on Jan. 17.
About an hour later, Collier County Sheriff’s Office deputies said she stole 59 more cans from another Walmart store about 30 blocks away.
Then on Feb. 10, deputies say King stole 59 cans from a third store in Naples.
Deputies say she swiped 128 cans during the three thefts, totaling $3,141.
In the February case, a Walmart loss prevention manager said that he observed a suspect in the baby aisle known to him as King from prior thefts.
He said she “continued to conceal all the formula cans into a car seat box she had selected from the store. After concealing all the formula cans, Tymesia continued to reseal the box with tape she had in her possession.”
During the investigation, deputies said King used a very similar method, with the car seat box, in the other thefts.
Deputies said King also had two children with her as she committed the crimes in Naples.
She was arrested and charged with grand theft and contributing to the delinquency of a minor.
According to the affidavit, King is suspected in 54 Walmart theft cases across Florida with the amount of stolen goods totaling $32,242.09.
