KEY LARGO, Fla. – A physician assistant who’s a member of the exclusive Ocean Reef Club on Key Largo is accused of burglarizing a fellow club member’s boat and stealing several pieces of fishing equipment.

Deputies with the Monroe County Sheriff’s Office said Felix Gonzalez-Quevedo, 61, rolled up in a Land Rover to commit the crime. He now faces three felonies.
An arrest warrant states that Gonzalez-Quevedo, whose Key Largo home is valued on the real estate website Zillow at roughly $1.6 million, punched in his membership number at the gate just after midnight on March 3 and accessed the club.
Deputies said surveillance video shows him driving to the club’s marina and going to a man’s 29-foot Sailfish open motorboat, where he “takes three fishing rods and reels out of the triple rod holder on the port side of the vessel.”
The warrant, which doesn’t say whether Gonzalez-Quevedo knew the boater, describes what deputies said happened next.
“Gonzalez walks away, out of view of the cameras, and puts the rods down before returning. Gonzalez boards the vessel this time and takes three rods out of the rod holders at the stern of the boat and one rod out of the rod holder on the starboard side of the vessel,” the warrant states. “As Gonzalez leaves, he takes the triple rod holder out of the gunnel on the port side and walks off camera once again.”
Gonzalez-Quevedo left with the loot — valued at a little less than $3,500 — several minutes later in his Land Rover, authorities said.
Less than 20 minutes after he arrived, Gonzalez-Quevedo left the club, the warrant states.
Deputies arrested him early Thursday morning on two burglary charges and one count of grand theft.
As of early Thursday afternoon, he was being held on a $35,000 bond, MCSO jail records show.
