FHP shares video of PIT maneuver ending chase with Broward man’s arrest

PALM BEACH COUNTY, Fla. – The Florida Highway Patrol released a video Thursday showing the end of a chase.

The video showed a trooper pulling close to a fleeing sedan and making contact twice before it stopped.

“Last night, a Broward resident did not wish to follow #rule1 and continued to flee from FHP,” a spokesperson for the agency wrote. “He was forced to meet the concrete wall into a complete stop.”

The trooper appeared to have been performing a precision immobilization technique, or PIT maneuver.

The driver of the sedan lost control of the car and the airbags deployed before being forced to stop.

The troopers reported arresting the driver in Palm Beach County and finding a firearm, cash, 7 cellphones, and bags of marijuana.
