PEMBROKE PINES, Fla. – A man was stabbed Tuesday morning in Pembroke Pines — and was arrested along with the suspect, according to police.
According to Pembroke Pines police, the stabbing occurred in a shopping plaza in the 7600 block of Pines Boulevard.
Surveillance video from a nearby restaurant shows one man chasing another man while holding a knife.
An employee from a store in the area told Local 10′s Michaila Hightower that the suspect had just purchased the knife there.
Police said Keano Johnson, 26, and Chuck Leigh Forbes, 37, were running from a laundromat, where Forbes had just stolen some of Johnson’s personal items.
According to investigators, Johnson chased after Forbes and stabbed him once in the back.
Forbes, who suffered non-life-threatening injuries, was initially taken to a local hospital while Johnson was taken into custody.
But police also arrested Forbes on a theft charge.
A witness told Hightower that Johnson had previously been bullied by Forbes. Authorities identified both men as transients.
“He was being bullied by that guy,” the witness said. “So you know, he picks on the guy every day about something.”
