PARKLAND, Fla. – A social media threat against Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School prompted a law enforcement response Monday, leading officials to place the campus on secure status as a precaution, authorities said.

According to the Broward Sheriff’s Office, while the post was made Sunday, deputies were alerted to the threat just after 10 a.m. Monday and responded to the school, which is located at 5901 Pine Island Rd. in Parkland, to investigate.
Detectives with BSO’s Threat Management Unit were also notified and are investigating the threat.
Sky 10 flew over the school as law enforcement worked to assess the situation.
Officials have not released further details on the nature of the threat.
