MIAMI-DADE COUNTY, Fla. – A 51-year-old man was arrested over the weekend after he threatened to blow up a USPS truck outside a Miami-Dade Sheriff’s Office station, authorities said.

According to an arrest report from MDSO, the suspect, Gregory Brown, who is currently homeless, called the City of Miami Police Department Saturday morning and said he would be pulling up to MDSO’s Northside station with a USPS truck and that it was “going to blow up.”
Deputies said MPD officers immediately called MDSO and provided the phone number that had been used to make the bomb threat.
According to the report, deputies and K-9 units responded to the MDSO station, where a bomb sweep was conducted, but nothing dangerous was found.
Deputies said they eventually traced the phone number back to Brown, who was arrested later that afternoon after walking into the City of Miami Police Station, located at 400 NW Second Ave.
According to the report, Brown provided officers with his driver’s license and his cellphone was confiscated as evidence.
He was then transferred to the Miami-Dade Sheriff’s Office station, where he invoked his right to remain silent.
Brown was arrested on a charge of making a false report regarding a bomb or explosive.
As of Monday, he was being held at the Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center where his bond was listed as “to be set.”
