FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. – A man died after the driver of a Hyundai struck him early Monday morning on an Interstate 95 ramp in Broward County.
According to the Florida Highway Patrol, the driver of a red 2024 Hyundai struck the man shortly after 4:50 a.m., on the southbound entrance ramp in Fort Lauderdale.
FHP troopers identified the driver of the Hyundai as Diana C. Arias but had yet to identify the man who died.
According to FHP, Arias, 62, was traveling on the outside lane when the man walked in front of her from the outside paved shoulder.
FHP reported Arias, of Lake Placid, “was unable to attempt an evasive maneuver,” struck him, and he “went airborne” coming “to final rest in a prone position on the southbound outside lane.”
He was pronounced dead at the scene.
