According to Pinecrest Chief Jason Cohen, the Atlantis Police Department helped detectives to arrest Michael Angelo Figueroa-Hernandez who was trying to hide at a hospital.

Detectives accused Figueroa-Hernandez of attacking a woman who was walking at about 7:30 a.m., on Tuesday, along Southwest 69 Court, between 128 and 133 streets.

“He grabs her from behind in what was described as a bear hug, and ... he touches her inappropriately,” Cohen said Tuesday. “She immediately screams and fights back.”

Figueroa-Hernandez, who is homeless and has a criminal record, fled in a blue bicycle that he later abandoned, police said.
