The confrontation, captured on video, shows her stopping, recording and demanding the suspects return the stolen items.

“Give him his shoes back,” she’s heard saying on cellphone video.

The woman asked not to be identified.

According to her husband, she first noticed something was wrong when she saw a car parked on the side of the road directly across from Miramar High School.

Three men had a student surrounded.

“There were actually three males and they were surrounding a young student,” the woman’s husband said. “She said he was young, maybe around 14, no more than 15 years old.”

Moments later, one of the suspects grabbed the student’s backpack while the teen pleaded with them.

“One of the guys got really close and took his backpack,” the woman’s husband said. “My wife put the window down, and she heard the student say, ‘I didn’t do it, I had nothing to do with it.’ And one of the guys said, ‘Give me your backpack.’”

As she pulled her car behind the suspects’ vehicle, another driver also stopped and yelled for them to leave the student alone.

“As soon as she pulled behind that vehicle, another vehicle pulled behind her and started saying, ‘Leave him alone! Leave him alone!’ Kind of like helping the student out,” her husband explained.

She then pulled up next to the suspects and confronted them directly.

“She drove right next to the vehicle and told them, ‘Give the kid his shoes back.’ And one of the guys yelled at her,” her husband said.

But the robbers didn’t listen.

“One of the guys took the backpack and he got in the vehicle quick,” her husband said. “And you can see the driver — right before he gets in the vehicle — you can see he has both shoes; they are real bright.”

The suspects then sped away.

The woman recorded the make and model of the suspects’ car, and police are now reviewing the footage.

The vehicle is a white Nissan Maxima with Florida License tag 20FDMX.

Anyone with information about the incident is urged to contact the Miramar Police Department.
