According to an arrest report from the Hialeah Police Department, the incident occurred early in the morning on Feb. 9 at the Playpen 2 club, located at 3890 NW 36th St.
While the police department referred to the establishment as a strip club in the arrest report, the company calls itself a Latin entertainment nightclub on its website and Instagram page.
Police said Yosnaydis Torres-Tosca and the other woman are acquaintances who got into a physical altercation that resulted in Torres-Tosca striking the woman in the head with a glass bottle.
According to the report, the woman told a detective that she couldn’t recall the details that led to the fight, but provided photos of the altercation.
After the brawl, the woman was transported to HCA Florida Mercy Hospital, where she received five stitches to her head. She also suffered a concussion, a corneal abrasion and a bite, authorities said.
Police said the woman was unsure about how she sustained the bite mark.
According to the report, detectives reviewed surveillance video from the club, which showed that the alleged victim had actually initiated the fight by punching Torres-Tosca first, but police said Torres-Tosca still used “excessive deadly force to thwart an attack that did not meet the statutory requirements to use such force.”
The report states that Torres-Tosca, who is a Cuban citizen currently living in Doral, was arrested at her apartment Monday on a charge of aggravated battery with a weapon causing great bodily harm.
Police said she provided a statement to detectives, detailing her involvement in the fight.
As of Thursday, Torres-Tosca remained held at the Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center on a $5,000 bond.
