Local 10 was told two people were shot near the Exxon gas station at Northwest 167th Street and 27th Avenue.

Witnesses said the victims ran down the street after being shot.

According to police, officers arrived at the scene and found two men suffering from multiple gunshot wounds.

One of those men was captured on surveillance video with blood pouring from his arm after being shot. A Miami Gardens police officer was seen applying a tourniquet near the wound in an effort to control the bleeding.

Noon report:

Police said Miami-Dade Fire Rescue airlifted one victim to a local hospital, while the other was transported to the hospital by ground. Their age, identity or conditions have not yet been released.

The shooter fled the scene in an unknown direction and has not been found.

A trail of blood leading from the gas station’s convenience store door was later cleaned up by workers.

Neighbors living in the area told Local 10′s Trent Kelly that they were rattled by the shooting, but were not surprised.

“Did it ever used to be this bad?” Kelly asked Pastor Joseph Jackson.

“No, no, no,” he said. “I’m here 24 years, and it’s always been good. You could spend all night outside and nobody would bother you.”

But Jackson said police are now often spotted in the area.

Anyone with information about the shooting is asked to call Miami-Dade Crime Stoppers at 305-471-8477.

The circumstances surrounding the shooting remain under investigation.
