MIAMI-DADE COUNTY, Fla. – Miami-Dade deputies arrested a second suspect in a severe beating during a Jan. 6 birthday celebration at a park & ride lot that sent a man to the hospital, according to an arrest report.
Deputies arrested one of the attackers, a 57-year-old man known by the nickname “El Tiburón” — “shark” in Spanish — one day later. They arrested the second suspect, a 41-year-old man known as “Fernando el Argentino,” on Monday.

According to the Miami-Dade Sheriff’s Office, the celebration took place at the Miami-Dade Transit Park & Ride lot at Southwest 127th Avenue and Kendall Drive.
A witness said a group of men were drinking and celebrating his birthday when “El Tiburón,” whose actual name is Carlos Enrique Barroso Perez, became upset over the way the victim, who is disabled, was cooking food during the get-together, the report states.
The argument was initially verbal, but turned physical, deputies said. Barroso Perez “became aggressive” and a witness said he and “Fernando el Argentino,” whose actual name is Fernando J. Silvera, attacked the victim, stomping on his face, deputies said.
The report states that the victim “sustained multiple facial bone fractures and received stitches on his forehead due to a laceration.”
Authorities said they found a “severely intoxicated” Silvera on Monday and arrested him on a second-degree felony charge of aggravated battery causing great bodily harm.
As of Tuesday, Silvera was being held in the Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center on a $7,500 bond.
Barroso Perez’s case remains active in the Miami-Dade court system; prosecutors formally filed an aggravated battery charge in February.
