MIAMI-DADE COUNTY, Fla. – A man and a woman are facing charges in Miami-Dade County after a Homestead police officer found a 2-year-old boy and his 5-year-old brother walking alone and barefoot in the street.
The 5-year-old boy told the police officer who found him on Wednesday night along Southwest 304 Street that they were home alone and scared when he decided to go to a McDonald’s.
A Florida Department of Children and Families investigator met the boys and talked to Junior Tessier and Casandra Dorce
“The victims were not cared for, for over two hours, before [Tessier and Dorce] decided to call police,” a Miami-Dade deputy wrote in the arrest report.
Deputies detained Tessier, 42, and Dorce, 35, to question them at the South District Station in Cutler Bay where they arrested them early Thursday morning, according to the arrest report.
Inmate records show corrections booked Dorce at the Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center, where she remained on Friday facing a charge of child neglect with no great bodily harm.
Court records show Tessier also faced a charge of child neglect with no great bodily harm and a judge ordered him to stay away from the boys. Their bond was $2,500.
