MIAMI – A husband and wife from Miami who are accused of molesting a teenage girl were arrested Wednesday by U.S. marshals in Lehigh Acres, authorities announced Thursday morning.

According to Miami police, the alleged crimes occurred between July 2023 and December 2023 when the victim was 13 years old, but the couple had fled from Miami.
An arrest warrant states that the couple, Edwin Erasmo Vasquez Vasquez, 50, and Yulian Jaqueline Garcia Castro, 39, met the victim at church.
Police said the victim slept over the couple’s home in July 2023, sleeping in the couple’s bed which they also shared with their two kids, who were about 7 and 9 years old.
The victim said Castro told her to sleep next to her husband, and he began to kiss the child on her mouth and touch her breast and vagina over her clothing.
In another incident, the couple was dropping off the victim at home and Castro ordered the two to kiss, authorities said.
Police said Vasquez Vasquez and the victim both initially refused to do so, but then complied.
According to the warrant, during another time when they couple was driving to drop off the victim at her home, Castro ordered her husband to sit in the backseat with the victim.
Police said Vasquez Vasquez did so and then removed the victim’s leggings and tried to rape her, but was unsuccessful as his penis started to bleed.
According to the warrant, on Dec. 23, 2023, Castro was doing the victim’s hair for a church event when she ordered her husband to lift the victim’s dress and molest her, which he complied with.
Two days later, the victim slept at the couple’s home and they both molested her, authorities said.
Police said later that morning, the husband molested the victim as his wife watched.
Both face multiple counts of sexual battery on a minor, lewd and lascivious molestation on a minor and lewd and lascivious conduct on a minor.
The couple was not appearing in the Miami-Dade County jail database as of Thursday morning. It wasn’t immediately clear whether they had yet been transferred to Miami.
