According to jail records, Ethan Contrera Rodriguez, of Kissimmee, was taken into custody Tuesday by Davie police.

He appeared in bond court the next day where a Broward County judge ordered that he be held in lieu of a $300,000 bond for two counts of sexual battery.

According to arrest reports, one alleged rape occurred on Sept. 7, 2024, and the other occurred on Oct. 12, 2024.

Rodriguez was initially arrested on Nov. 7.

According to one of the reports, the victim from the September rape told detectives that Rodriguez messaged her on Instagram on Sept. 7 and asked her if she wanted to hang out.

Police said she agreed and went to Rodriguez’s dorm room later that morning, where he greeted her while wearing only a tank top and boxer shorts.

The victim told police they sat on the edge of the bed and Rodriguez began kissing her.

According to the report, the victim told Rodriguez she only came over “to be friends,” and told him she was menstruating and didn’t want to be intimate with him.

Police said Rodriguez told her, “I don’t care if you have your period. I don’t really care,” and then pushed the victim onto the bed and removed her shorts and underwear.

The victim told police Rodriguez pinned her to the bed and digitally penetrated her before flipping her onto her stomach and raping her.

She said she had repeatedly told Rodriguez to stop.

According to the report, Rodriguez eventually stopped after numerous demands to do so from the victim and then appeared to get “mad and just sat silently” as the victim got up to go to the bathroom.

Police said the victim called a friend in the bathroom to come pick her up.

As she was preparing to leave the room, Rodriguez “hugged her tight around her neck in an aggressive manner,” the report stated.

According to the report, when questioned by a detective, Rodriguez acknowledged that the victim told him she was menstruating and that she didn’t want to have intercourse, but added, “It’s not like it’s on me; her clothes were off.”

Police said Rodriguez also claimed that the victim had laid on her stomach, propping her butt up and “curved her body in a way telling me it’s okay.”

He acknowledged that the woman never gave him verbal consent, according to the report.

A separate arrest report details the alleged sexual battery that occurred on Oct. 12, 2024.

According to that report, a separate victim went to Rodriguez’s dorm room that night and he greeted her with a hug before they sat on his bed.

The victim told police that the two began watching a TV show when Rodriguez began kissing her.

The victim said she pulled away and told Rodriguez that she “didn’t come here for this,” but that they could just watch a movie together.

According to the report, the victim claimed that Rodriguez continued to get “touchy” and placed his hands in the back of her pants, rubbing her buttocks.

She said she told Rodriguez to stop and he apologized, but then placed his hands in the front of her pants about 5 minutes later and digitally penetrated her.

“You’re too pretty to be shy,” Rodriguez said to her after she pulled his hand away, according to the report.

The victim told police that she repeatedly told Rodriguez to stop and said “No is no” before moving away on the bed to create distance between them, which she said appeared to annoy Rodriguez.

According to the report, Rodriguez eventually removed the victim’s pants and performed oral sex on her.

Police said the victim again told Rodriguez to stop and he asked “Why? Can we keep going?”

“No,” the victim said she responded before getting up to leave.

The victim told police Rodriguez asked her, “What the f*** is wrong with you?” before she grabbed her belongings and left the room.

According to the arrest report, a controlled call was later placed to Rodriguez in which a detective heard Rodriguez acknowledge that the victim told him “this is not what she came over for,” and repeatedly apologized to her, although he also claimed, “When you got back in the mood, I did it. You let me. I didn’t force myself on you.”

“I didn’t get back in the mood. I was uncomfortable the whole time,” the victim responded, according to the report.

“Yeah, I figured that when you told me to stop the last time, and I completely stopped,” Rodriguez allegedly responded.

According to the report, Rodriguez acknowledged that he should have stopped when the victim first said to stop.

As of Thursday morning, Rodriguez remained at the Broward Main Jail.

If he posts bond, he will need to wear a GPS monitor at his home in Kissimmee and is not allowed to have any contact with the victims or return to NSU’s campus in Davie.
